INDIANAPOLIS – Jared Grady led five players in double figures as UIndy men's basketball routed Central State, 100-56, at Nicoson Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Grady scored a career-high 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including a pair of three-pointers, for the Greyhounds (4-0) as they remain unbeaten. Grady added four rebounds, three assists and two steals against the NCAA Division II Marauders (1-3) from Wilberforce, Ohio.

The Greyhounds shot 58.7 percent from the floor (37-63), including 11-of-22 behind the three-point line. UIndy's offensive success came from its unselfishness as it racked up 29 assists on 37 field goals, while committing only 11 turnovers. That helped UIndy reach 100 points for the first time since defeating Mt. Vernon Nazarene, 108-74, on Dec. 11, 2010 at Nicoson Hall.
Avery Harmon added 12 points, while
James Hollowell had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Leland Brown scored 10 points in six foul-plagued minutes, while
Quinten Hunter had 10 of his own and five rebounds.
Reece Cheatham led the passing attack with a career-high six assists, while
Joe Daniels led all players with a career-high 10 rebounds, in addition to eight points.
After being out-rebounded in the first half, 20-14, the Greyhounds had a 28-12 advantage in the second half and scored all of their 14 second-chance points. UIndy also tallied 12 steals, while forcing 17 turnovers that led to a 30-9 advantage in points off turnovers and 12-2 in fast break points.
The Marauders were held to 32 percent (17-53) and made just 5-of-17 three-pointers against the stout Greyhound defense. LeDonte Body led CSU with 12 points, while leading scorer DeMarkus Isom-Jones was held to eight points, 11 below his season average.
Brown's second career three-pointer from the right corner pushed UIndy's lead to 13-1 just 2:02 into the game and the lead was never below 10 the rest of the way.
A 13-1 run moments later extended the lead to 22, 28-6, with 9:45 left in the half after
Cole Adair scored in the paint. UIndy shot 60 percent in the opening half and made 6-of-9 three-pointers, but Central State was able to hang around with a 10-0 edge in second-chance points.
The Greyhounds opened the second half with a 22-7 run over the first six minutes to stake a 33-point lead, 69-36, after Hollowell connected with Daniels with some nice interior post passing.
UIndy returns to Nicoson Hall for a pair of games next week against IU Kokomo on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Cincinnati Christian on Friday at 5 p.m. before heading to Central State on Dec. 5.
