Hoops heads to Central State for first road game

The Greyhounds face a new challenge this season when they play their first road game of the season at Central State in Wilberforce, Ohio, returning the Marauders' trip to Nicoson Hall on Nov. 24.

NATIONALLY RANKED
The Greyhounds have been tabbed as No. 20 in the Division II Bulletin Preseason Poll. In the NABC Coaches Poll, UIndy is 24th nationally.

This is the first week this season that UIndy is in the top 25. UIndy has been in the Top 25 for 24 weeks in school history, seven times during Stan Gouard's tenure.

FAST START
UIndy is off to its best start, 6-0, in Stan Gouard's tenue as head coach and the best since the 2007-08 team won its first six. The last team to win its first seven was the 2003-04 team that started 12-0.

SERIES HISTORY
The Greyhounds are undefeated (5-0) against the Marauders after winning in Nicoson Hall, 100-56, earlier this season. In recent memory, the previous three meetings had all been in Indianapolis. The series stretches to a pair of meetings, one each in 1959 and 1960.

ABOUT CENTRAL STATE
After losing their third in a row in the loss at UIndy, the Marauders have rebounded with a three-game winning streak. The Marauders are 4-2 at home this season.

DeMarkus Isom-Jones, a 6-4 senior, leads the way with 20 ppg and 5.0 rpg, while 5-8 senior Phillip Gates adds 15.1 ppg and 5.9 apg.

LAST MEETING
The Greyhounds had their highest-scoring game of the season against the Marauders in a 100-56 win at Nicoson Hall. Five players scored in double figures led by Jared Grady with 23 points.

LAST TIME OUT
The Greyhounds forced 30 turnovers, while only committing nine to out-score Cincinnati Christian 45-4 in points off turnovers. The Hounds also made 12 three-pointers and shot 56 percent in the 94-41 victory.
