Winning streak halted by #19 Drury

Box Score

INDIANAPOLIS --
The UIndy men's tennis team had its season-opening six-match winning streak stopped by No. 19 Drury in a non-conference match at the UIndy Tennis Center.

The Greyhounds (6-1) battled, but couldn't take a point from the Panthers (4-1), the top-ranked team in the Midwest Region.

UIndy had an opportunity to take a point in the opening doubles as Preston Swain and Pete Wilson built a 6-5 lead against Jorge Nadal and Jandui Reyes at No. 3. The Panthers were able to fight back and survived to complete the doubles sweep with a 9-7 win.

Sophomore Trevor Cox, the 10th-ranked singles player in the region, was able to compete rally-for-rally against the No. 31 singles player in the nation, Andy Blair, before falling 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.

UIndy is off for a week until welcoming its Johnson County neighbor, Franklin, on March 4 at 10 a.m.
