HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. --
Adrian Moss led all players with 25 points and five steals, but the No. 22 UIndy men's basketball team couldn't keep up with No. 16 Northern Kentucky, 77-61, at The Bank of Kentucky Center on Thursday night.

Moss was the only double figure scorer for the Greyhounds (16-6, 9-5 GLVC) as they shot 35.6 percent from the field (21-59), while the Norse (18-4, 10-4 GLVC) countered by connecting on 49 percent (24-49). NKU also made more free throws (23-30) than UIndy attempted (16-22).

UIndy trailed by three at halftime, 34-31, and was still within four, 50-46, with 11:40 to play after Moss' tip-in capped a 7-0 run. After forcing a turnover, UIndy had a chance to pull closer, but Will Smith missed a pair of free throws. Jarrett Hamilton secured the rebound of the second miss, but then had the ball stolen. The Norse converted a three-pointer on that possession after an offensive rebound to start a 15-2 run over 3:52 to take a 17-point lead, 65-48, and put the game away with 6:32 to play.

Northern Kentucky was led by Ethan Faulkner with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Tony Rack had 14 points. DeAndre Nealy added nine points, eights blocks and four rebounds.

Less than four minutes into the game, NKU had already built an eight-point lead, 13-5, but then UIndy took control. The Greyhounds strung together an 11-2 run to take the lead, 16-15, after Cody Vest converted an offensive rebound with 12:52 on the clock. The Norse countered with a three-pointer 17 seconds later to start an 11-0 run for their first double-digit lead, 26-16, with 7:38 to play.

UIndy wouldn't go away with an 11-1 run to tie the game on a pair of Joe Daniels' free throws with 4:07 to play, but couldn't regain the lead on the way to trailing at halftime, 34-31.

UIndy shot 48 percent in the first half (12-25) to hang around before falling to 26.5 percent (9-34) and 1-of-10 three-pointers in the second half.

The schedule gets tougher as the Greyhounds head to Louisville, Ky., on Saturday at 8 p.m. to play No. 1 Bellarmine (21-1, 13-1 GLVC). UIndy is 2-0 against the top-ranked team in the country this season, including handing the Knights their only loss, 99-94, in overtime at Nicoson Hall on Dec. 1.
