Adrian Moss led his West All-Stars to victory, 120-110, over the East All-Stars on Friday night at The Bank of Kentucky Center in the 2012 Reese's Division II College All-Star Game.
Moss started and played 19 minutes on his way to six points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. This was the second year in a row that UIndy was represented in the game after
Darius Adams earned MVP honors in Springfield, Mass., last season.
The Basketball Times Third Team All-American gave the East its first 10-point lead, 36-25, with 9:13 to play in the first half after picking up a steal and then converting a three-pointer off an assist from Cody Schilling of Augustana.
The unanimous First Team All-Midwest Region guard pushed the lead to 21, 86-65, with 12:02 left to play with his second three-pointer of the contest.
Moss' three-point prowess was also on display Thursday night when he won the Division II Three-Point Shootout during halftime of the second national semifinal.
Moss led the Great Lakes Valley Conference in steals (2.03), second in assists (5.31, 27th NCAA) and fourth in scoring (18.3) as the Greyhounds (20-9, 12-6 GLVC) finished as one of the top four teams in Division II's toughest conference and reached the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. Moss, who led the GLVC as conference player of the week three times, propelled UIndy to five weeks in the NABC/Division II Top 25 during the 2011-12 campaign.
The point guard totalled 302 assists and 103 steals to rank ninth in the UIndy career top 10 in both categories. On average, Moss is second in career assists (5.3 apg) and fifth in steals (1.8 spg) after leading UIndy to its first 20-win season since 2003-04 and first NCAA Tournament victory since 1996.
