Greyhounds handle Le Moyne, 8-1

KISSIMMEE, Fla. --
The University of Indianapolis men's tennis team earned its first victory in the Sunshine State by handling Le Moyne, 8-1, of the Northeast 10 Conference at Star Island Resort on Friday morning.

Preston Swain and Pete Wilson won their second straight match at No. 2 doubles, 8-2, for the Greyhounds (8-2), while Trevor Cox and Alex Poe won 8-2 at No. 3. The Dolphins (3-7) earned their only point with a win at No. 1 doubles to keep the match close, 2-1, going into singles.

UIndy swept their way through singles by winning every match in straight sets against their NCAA Division II East Region opponent.

Poe moved up to No. 4 singles and had the most impressive performance with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Andrew Gleason. Caleb Fellers won 6-2, 6-2 over James Shelp at No. 2 to up his record to 6-2 at that spot, while Trevor Cox moved to 7-3 at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Competition picks up for UIndy tomorrow at 11 a.m. at No. 19 Saint Leo.
