INDIANAPOLIS –
Arriving at Indianapolis International Airport from their winter training in Jupiter, Fla., just 90 minutes before meet time, the No. 7 University of Indianapolis men's and women's swimming teams were still able to emerge victorious at Ruth Lilly Center Pool.

The men defeated Bellarmine, 118-37, and William Jewell, 95-77, while the women won against the Knights, 114-56, and over the Cardinals, 91-71. All three teams will be conference rivals next season when the Great Lakes Valley Conference will sponsor swimming and diving for the first time.

"We really beat the kids up with some rigourous training in Florida and I was glad to see them still come out and put up some quality swims tonight," head coach Gary Kinkead said.

The women won the 200 medley relay in 1:51.34 with Sarah Griffin, Michelle Mikaelsson, Samantha Asencio and Risa Ricard and then posted the fastest time swimming the 200 free relay as an exhibition in 1:40.16 with Asencio, Julia Madeira, Maura Donahue and Regina Perez.
