MIDLAND, Mich. –The UIndy men's basketball team turned an 11-point halftime deficit into an 88-79 win at Northwood Saturday night.  The Greyhounds (2-0) shot 68 percent from the floor after the break on the way to 51 second-half points in the important region contest.

The Hounds were led by senior Reece Cheatham.  The Pike High School grad led the team with 24 points and four steals off the bench, doing most of his damage with a career-best six 3-pointers.

Senior Leland Brown scored 21 on 9-of-14 (.643) shooting, junior Joe Lawson recorded the first Greyhounds double-double of the year with 18 points and 11 boards, and Tyrae Robinson added 14 points and four assists.

After digging a hole by giving up 48 points in the first half, the Hounds came out of the break with renewed intensity.  The result was a 17-2 run to start the final period, giving UIndy a lead it would might not relinquish.

The Greyhounds led by as much as 13 until eight unanswered points late in the game made it a two-possession contest with a minute and a half to go.  The rally was thwarted, however, when two quick steals and two quicker buckets by the Hounds – one a dunk by Brennan McElroy – put the game on ice.

Another GLIAC opponent awaits the Hounds as they host Malone Saturday, Nov. 23.  Tip time is tentatively scheduled for 3 p.m.
