game notes* as of Nov. 27ON TAPThe Greyhounds host the four-team UIndy Thanksgiving Classic this holiday break. Four games total will take place on the Nicoson Hall court, as the Hounds and fellow-GLVC-school Saint Joseph's each face in-region Tiffin and Central State. Below is the complete schedule.
Friday, Nov. 28Saint Joseph's vs. Central State, 5:30 p.m.
UIndy vs. Tiffin, 7 :45 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 29Saint Joseph's vs. Tiffin, 1 p.m.
UIndy vs. Central State, 3:15 p.m.
ABOUT TIFFINGLIAC-member Tiffin brings a 2-1 record into the Classic. The Dragons have faced a couple of in-region opponents, falling 83-66 to Kentucky Wesleyan in the opener before edging UIndy's Saturday opponents, Central State, 76-75 a day later.
At 14.7 points per game, leading-scorer Andy Bachman is one of four Dragons averaging in double figures. The junior out of Fort Wayne, Ind., has already hoisted 25 shots from behind the arc, translating to more than eight 3-point attempts per game.
GREYHOUNDS vs. DRAGONSLess than a four-hour drive from Tiffin, Ohio, UIndy has never faced the Dragons prior to Friday. Tiffin only recently made the jump to Division II, becoming a full-fledged D-II member in 2002-03.
ABOUT CENTRAL STATECentral State owns an even 2-2 mark heading into Friday. Members of the G-MAC, The Marauders evened their record with a 67-64 win versus rivals Kentucky State Tuesday. Sophomore Sterling Gilmore nailed a 3-pointer in the final seconds to lift CSU to victory.
Five-foot-eight senior Masceo Harmon leads the team in scoring at 16.8 points per night. Fellow senior Raheem Lemons averages 13.8 points and 8.0 rebounds through four games. Lemons is shooting 57 percent from the floor but just 33 percent (5-for-15) from the line.
GREYHOUNDS vs. MARAUDERSThe Hounds are 6-0 all-time versus Central State. Saturday's opponents have two recent meeting of note, both coming in 2012-13. On Nov. 24 of that season, UIndy trounced the Marauders,
100-56, in Nicoson Hall. Eleven days later, however, in a rare non-conference rematch, CSU gave the Hounds all they could handle in Wilberforce, but UIndy eventually came away with the
57-53 road win.
LAST TIME OUTUIndy recorded a pair of wins versus NAIA opponents last week, capped by a
98-64 rout of visiting Purdue North Central Saturday. Six Greyhounds finished in double figures, led by
Brennan McElroy's 19 points.
PERCENTAGE POINTSThe Hounds combined to shoot a gaudy 63.5 percent from the floor versus PNC. McElroy led the onslaught, as the Decatur, Ill., native was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field.
The last time UIndy was that efficient offensively came back on Jan. 31, 2009 when the team connected on 64.3 percent of its field goal attempts in an 81-68 home win versus Saint Joseph's.
SEEING DOUBLEThe Greyhounds have combined for seven double-double performances on the young season, already matching last year's total.Â
Brennan McElroy (3),
Joe Lawson (2) and
Lucas Barker (2) have accounted for the lot.
Below is a season-by-season look the number of double-doubles by Greyhounds in the
Stan Gouard era.

BOMBS AWAYFreshman sniper
Eric Davidson has had quite the start to his collegiate career. The sharp-shooting guard has been deadly from behind the arc, knocking own 9-of-11 (.818) 3-point attempts through four games. He has at least two triples in all four games to date, including a perfect 3-for-3 performance versus Northern Michigan Nov. 15.
Senior
Kendall Vieke has also lit it up from long range, connecting on 10-of-18 (.556) attempts from downtown, while junior
Lucas Barker is 5-for-11 (.455) from distance.
LAYING DOWN THE LAWSenior
Joe Lawson had a historic defensive effort in last Wednesday's 21-point win versus Grace College. The Indy native swatted seven Lancer shots, matching the program record for most blocks in a game. The only other time a Greyhound amassed that many blocks was when Steve Kahl rejected seven shots versus Bellarmine in 1977.
B-MAC ATTACKBrennan McElroy has picked up right where he left off last season in regards to field goal accuracy. Already the school's career leader in the category, the fifth-year senior is shooting nearly 80 percent from the floor through four games, as his .794 percentage is good for seventh in Division II.
McElroy currently sports career FG percentage of .702 (229-for-326), topping second-place Jason Wright (.679, 2002-04) on UIndy's all-time list.
DIME DROPPERJunior
Lucas Barker ranks second in the nation at 9.0 assists per game. He has two points/assists double-doubles in the last two games. Since game-by-game stats became available in 2000-01, only two Greyhounds - Rob Kent (2001-02) and Adrian Moss (2011-12) - have had two such double-doubles in the same season. No Hound has recorded three in the same year during the time frame.
