INDIANAPOLIS – Facing their second Division I opponent in the last four days, the UIndy men's tennis team fell 5-2 Wednesday at Butler.

UIndy (3-1) took one singles and one doubles match against the Bulldogs (5-1), winners of five straight.

Butler was on the board first by taking No. 1 and 2 doubles. On court one, Caleb Fellers and Nico Kastunowicz were defeated by Billy Weldon and Austin Woldmoe, 6-1. The Bulldogs clinched the doubles point when Brandon Woods and Pulok Bhattacharya defeated UIndy's Fausto Cordova and Marco Torres, 6-2.

Luke Hubert and Fernando Taricano were competing with Alex Woldmoe and Tommy Marx in No. 3, but the match was unfinished.

BU scored the first singles point and took a 2-0 lead, as Austin Woldmoe took down Torres in No. 2, 6-3, 6-4.

UIndy bounced back to tie the match 2-2 when Hubert and Kastunowicz picked up consecutive singles victories.
In No. 4, Hubert dropped Marx in straight sets, 6-3, 6-5. Kastunowicz won a tough No. 1 singles match against BU's Bhattacharya, 6-5, 6-4. They both moved to a perfect 4-0 in singles play this dual match season.

With the overall match tied 2-2, the Bulldogs pulled away by winning the final three singles matches. The tipping point came when Woods narrowly edged Cordova in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 5-6, 6-5, to earn the third point.

BU's Weldon defeated Taricano in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-2, and Alex Woldmoe knocked off Fellers in No. 6, 6-0, 6-1.

The Greyhounds face 45th-ranked Ohio Dominican Friday and 34th-ranked Rockhurst Saturday. Both teams are ranked in the top eight regionally.
