INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 5 UIndy men's basketball team (21-2, 13-2 GLVC) upped its winning streak to nine with an 84-74 victory against visiting Quincy (9-16, 4-11) Saturday afternoon.  Four Greyhounds scored in double figures, led by Tyrae Robinson's 20 points.

Fresh off recording their 20th win of the season on Thursday, the Hounds trailed by four at the half but shot 50 percent from the field after the break on the way to 47 second-half points.

Trailing by five with 15-and-a-half minutes left, UIndy's energy was sparked by fast-break dunk from Brennan McElroy.  Two minutes later, the Hounds tied it at 55 apiece, then took the lead – ultimately for good – on a pair of throws from Robinson at the 12-minute mark.

UIndy held off the Hawks with help from 3-pointers from junior Kendall Vieke and senior Jared Grady.  The Hounds would lead by as much as 13 before the score settled at 84-74.

Robinson finished 8 of 11 (.727) from the floor while adding a season-high eight assists.  Junior Brennan McElroy amassed 15 points, nine rebounds and three steals; junior Joe Lawson had 14 points and seven boards; and Grady added 15 points off the bench.

UIndy's 21-2 overall record matches the program's best mark through 23 games, tying both the 1963-64 and 1996-97 clubs atop in school annals.  Those teams finished 26-3 and 23-4, respectively.

UIndy continues its homestand with two more games in Nicoson Hall next week.  The Hounds host No. 22 Southern Indiana Thursday, Feb. 20, followed by a visit from Bellarmine two days later.

Note:  This year's inductees into the UIndy Athletics Hall of Fame were honored at halftime.  Melissa Graham Carnes (1991-95), Larry Keene (1961-65), Gary Paul (1986-90), Rick Stover (1971-75) and Charles Zopf (1950-54) were all recognized, as well as the 1976-77 men's cross country team.
