INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis women's soccer team closed out the 2015 campaign in dramatic fashion with a buzzer-beating goal to close out a 2-1 comeback win over Saint Joseph's College.

The Greyhounds close out the season with a 5-8-4 record (4-7-4), which includes a three-match winning streak to end the year in head coach Holly Cox's debut season behind the UIndy bench.

GAME CHANGER
The two sides appeared headed for overtime in a 1-1 tie as the seconds ticked down in overtime. That was before freshman Stephanie Burdsall chased down a ball deep in the Puma zone and beat St. Joseph's keeper with four seconds to go in regulation to seal the win.

It was Burdsall's fifth goal of the season and third game-winner, giving her the team lead in both categories as the season draws to a close.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
A pair of seniors teamed up to pull the Greyhounds even in the 64th minute, when Jessica Bentley found Taylor Cotherman on a run down the left side of the field. Cotherman would fight off a challenge from a Puma defender before breaking in a goal and sticking a shot inside the far post for her first goal of the season. The assist was also Bentley's first career point.

UIndy finished the match with a 16-7 advantage on the shot clock and a 9-6 edge in shots on goal. Burdsall had four attempts to lead all attackers while Cotherman finished with three targets. Both Bentley and Kiara Elliott finished with a pair of shots on the night.

Junior Emma Crenshaw needed five saves to pick up the win in goal for UIndy. Wednesday's night match was the final in the careers of Bentley, Cotherman, Elliott, Lindsey Bryant and Lindsey Adams.

St. Joseph's tallied the game's first goal of the match in the 51st minute on a blast from 35 yards out off the foot of Haley Celebre that sailed over Crenshaw's head and just under the crossbar for her fourth marker of the year.

HEAR IT FROM THE HOUNDS
Freshman Michele Govern: "It was really exciting being able to see the play develop on the game-winner. Throughout the season, I felt we played well but just weren't able to find the back of the net. To close the season scoring the way we did, it makes us feel good as we head into the offseason."

Head coach Holly Cox: "It was an exciting first year as a head coach. We had our ups and downs and obviously you want to do better, but our kids really did a great job towards the end of the year and that gives us something to build on."

"Having a young group of players see big minutes is big for our program going forward. We're going to have a group of battle tested players that are going to be with us for years to come and that's very comforting as a coach. I was impressed with everyone's work rate this year and the best is yet to come with our program as we look forward to year two."
