GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The UIndy swimming and diving teams both captured dual-meet wins at in-state Depauw University Saturday afternoon. The Greyhound women downed the host Tigers, 152-132, while the men earned decisive 199-94 win.

"We had some stud swims today," said first-year head coach
Jason Hite. "The senior captains showed some great resolve anchoring relays and leading the team. Vitor (Botana) and George (Oancea) both broke pool records today as well.

"On the women's side, Stefanie (Haholiades) won the 200 free with a great last 50, and our distance girls are coming along and improving.

"As a group, we are doing some great things and moving forward. I'm excited to see what we will do in two weeks at House of Champions meet."

The UIndy women got multiple wins from three Greyhounds. Freshman sprinter
Stefanie Haholiades was a part of four wins, including two as an individual. The Nicosia, Cyprus native won both the 100 (53.21) and 200 free (1:57.85) while contributed to the 400 free relay (3:37.96) and 200 medley relay (1:50.42) victories.

Freshman
Madeleine Leger was also part of the 200 medley relay win, swimming the backstroke leg. She also won the 100 (1:00.26) and 200 back (2:08.74). Senior
Michelle Mikaelsson chipped in wins in both the 100 (1:08.40) and 200 breaststroke (2:27.86).

Depauw closed the gap with a 22-point edge on the boards, but the Hounds were able to win both relays race and more individual events to secure the victory.Â

The UIndy men, meanwhile, won every event. The freshman duo of
Vitor Botana and
George Oancea highlighted the day with a pair of pool records. Botana won the 100 (47.13) and 1000 free (9:16.07) , with the latter good for both a pool and program record, as well as the second-fastest time in Division II this season.

Oancea also won two individual events, touching first in the 200 breast (2:08.46) before snapping a 20-year-old pool record in the 400 IM (4:04.18).

Sophomore
Nick Quigley (200 IM and 200 fly), senior
Marius Bornkessel (50 and 500 free) and sophomore
Sebastian Konnaris  (200 free and 200 back) all had two individual wins. Bornkessel, Konnaris, Botana and
Dawid Rybinski combined to take the 400 free relay (3:08.37); while Bornkessel,
Romano Hoffmann,
Bartosz Zarzecki and
Bucky Coonradt took the 200 medley relay (1:35.18).

In addition, freshman
Daulton Freeman got his first collegiate victory in the 100 back (54.03), and freshman
Dalton Cline continued his progress on the boards, winning both diving events to inch closer to a national-qualifying mark.

UIndy gets one more tune-up before the aforementioned House of Champions meet. The Hounds host Grand Valley in a dual meet Nov. 14 starting at 1 p.m.
