Men's soccer loses 3-1 to #2 Rockhurst on senior day

INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Indianapolis men's soccer team four-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday with a 3-1 loss to the No. 2 Rockhurst Hawks on senior day. Graduating seniors Josh Ling, David Kurz, Kiuno Cann and Braden Tamosaitis were honored before the game on their senior day.

The Hounds scored first, Josh Ling giving them the lead in the fifth minute, but an error by Greyhounds goalkeeper Miles Palmer led to a Kaleb Jackson goal which tied things in the 17th minute.

Adam Michel gave the Hawks the lead with a penalty goal in the 34th, which put the Hawks up 2-1 at halftime. Jackson scored another one in the 85th to put the match away for the Hawks.

The Hawks outshot the Hounds 11-9. Both teams put five shots on goal.

Coach's thoughts coming soon.

With the win, the Hawks clinch the conference regular season title and the number-one seed in the conference tournament. The Hounds drop to fourth place and will visit the Maryville Saints on Wednesday at noon.
