KANSAS CITY - The University of Indianapolis men's soccer team's season came to an end on Friday night in a 1-0 loss to the three-seed Maryville Saints.
The Saints scored the only goal of the game in the 29th minute, Vittorio Sasse sneaking his effort past
Miles Palmer to give the Saints the lead for good.
The Hounds had opportunities, taking eight shots, but only put three of them on frame, as
James Jenkins, Javier Steinwascher and
Callum Walsh all had their efforts saved by Saints' goalkeeper Christi Kjaersgaard. The Saints, on the other hand, put five of their eight attempts on frame.
The Saints also had more corner kicks, taking eight to the Hounds' three. The Saints committed 14 fouls to the Hounds' seven.
Josh Mahon was booked for the Hounds in the 44th minute. Gavino Carranza received a yellow for the Saints in the 71st.
First-team all-GLVC senior defender
David Kurz sat out the match due to injury..
The Hounds finish the season 13-6-1 and GLVC conference tournament champions.
