CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The UIndy women's basketball team (1-5) ran into a hot-shooting Cedarville University squad Monday night, falling 77-55 in the fourth installment of a five-game road swing. The host Lady Jackets (4-1) shot 53 percent from the field – just the second UIndy opponent to shoot better that 50 percent since November of 2015.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds got off to a slow start, as they found themselves in an early 9-0 hole. UIndy went scoreless on its first four possessions before
Alexa Bailey's triple broke the seal. Later, a buzzer-beating three gave Cedarville a 25-point first quarter and a 13-point lead through 10 minutes.
Â
UIndy would fall behind 20 points at the half before going toe-to-toe with the Lady Jackets in the second half. UIndy hung 20 on the board in the third quarter and got within a baker's dozen with 14 minutes left.
Devin Ferguson scored five points – all from the foul line – in a 9-2 spurt midway through the third.
Â
UIndy would not get any closer, however, as the Jackets kept the Hounds at arm's length down the stretch. Three Greyhounds would finish in double figures, led by
Martha Burse's 15 points.
