HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The UIndy baseball team let their bats to the heavy lifting in the series finale against Coker College on Sunday. The Greyhounds scored four times in their first trip to the plate and went on to pound out 21 hits on the afternoon en route to an 18-4 win over the Cobras.

John Eberhardt went 4-for-6 on the day, driving in five runs and belting his first two home runs as a Greyhound.
Nick Miller and
Jake Perreira had three hits and four RBI each and every starter for the Hounds finished with at least one hit on the day.

UIndy moves to 2-1 with the win, dropping Coker to 4-4 on the year.

The Hounds' offensive barrage got started four batters in. With two on and one out, Miller laced a single through the right side, scoring
Storm Joop from second. One batter later, Eberhardt put a crooked number on the board when he drilled a pitch over the left center field wall to make it a 4-0 game.

Coker cut the lead in half with two runs in the second and made it a 4-3 game with another run in the third. UIndy's offense was held in check until the top of the sixth when they burst out for another four-run frame. Perreira,
Devon Hensley and
Kyle Orloff all had run-scoring hits in the inning, stretching the lead to 8-3.

Miller made it a 10-4 game with a two-run blast in the top of the eighth and four batters later Perreira tacked on to the lead with a two-run single.

UIndy put the finishing touches on the emphatic win, scoring six more runs in the top of the ninth. The inning featured RBI base hits from Orloff, Miller, Perreira and Joop with Eberhardt's second round tripper of the day sandwiched in the middle.

Freshman
Reid Werner made his first career start, lasting four innings and giving up three earned runs.
Josh Helton entered in relief of Werner and picked up his first career win, tossing two hitless innings in relief.
Chris Boettcher,
Jake Shaw and
Pete Allen all worked an inning each, giving up a combined two hits over the last three innings.

UIndy will open up their home schedule next weekend with a three-game set against Notre Dame College (Ohio). The Hounds and Falcons will get their series underway on Friday (Feb. 17) at 1:00 p.m.
