INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy men's lacrosse set program records for goals and margin of victory Monday, defeating Ohio Valley 25-5 on a rainy day at Key Stadium.

Career-highs scoring totals from sophomores Parker Kump and Shawn Kimble (eight apiece) helped pave the way for the most dominant win in Greyhound history. All told, 13 Hounds finished with at least one point in the victory.

UIndy, which defeated Ohio Valley by a 15-9 score last season, advances to 2-2 overall in the win and drops the Fighting Scots to 1-2.

Under a chilly rainfall, sophomore Matthew Johnson broke the scoring seal with a goal near the nine-minute mark of the first quarter off a feed from junior Sam Horning.

Horning then went to work himself, netting two goals about 70 seconds apart to help negate Ohio Valley's first tally, making it 3-1 midway through the period.

Kump got on the board soon after, scoring two in a row off assists from Luke Allen and Noah Grove.

Horning and Kump connected once more before the first-quarter horn sounded, the former recording his hat trick with off the latter's assist.

Leading 6-1 after 15 minutes of action, the Hounds' lead quickly swelled with six unanswered goals, making it 12-1.

Markers from Horning and Kump, and two quick ones from Kimble made it 10-1.

Sophomore Conor Acus netted his first collegiate goal soon after, as did freshman Austin Tracogna to make it 12-1 before Ohio Valley's Adam Dickson broke the Fighting Scots' drought.

Kimble and Kump each added goals for good measure before the halftime horn sounded, giving UIndy a lopsided 14-2 lead heading into the break. The 14 goals marked a program record for any half.

Although the rain eventually subsided, the goals continued to pour in for the Hounds in the third and fourth quarters.

Some more new faces got in on the scoring, as well, including transfer Kenny Keyes who netted his first goal as a Greyhound.

Freshman Parker Johnson soon scored his first goal of the day to set the program record, making it 18-2 with 25 minutes still remaining. UIndy's previous high in a game came in a 17-6 win last season against Shorter.

Classmate Nathaniel Webber also found the back of the net in the fourth quarter, scoring his first goal for the Hounds.

Kump and Kimble each finished with six goals, setting career-highs. Horning followed with five goals and six points total.

Acus and Parker Johnson finished with a pair of goals apiece, and Johnson added three assists for a total of five points.

Sophomore Luke Allen led the Hounds with four assists, followed by Webber's and Johnson's three. Keyes and Tracogna each finished with two points.

Specialist Dominic Guarino won 16 of 26 faceoffs (.615) and led the Hounds with seven ground balls. As a team, the Hounds finished with 42 ground balls to Ohio Valley's 19.

Defensively, Max Groves led the way with six caused turnovers, followed by Jack Belobrajdic's three. UIndy forced 20 of the Scots' 27 turnovers.

Sophomore keeper Jarod Kimble (2-2) earned three saves in goal for UIndy, while Tanner Gurin and Connor Konas each saw time in the cage, as well.

UIndy is back at home Saturday, hosting Florida Southern at Key Stadium for a 12 p.m. ET start.
