LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Saturday marks a very special day for the UIndy softball family. The schedule shows the 14th-ranked Greyhounds traveling to Louisville, Ky., to take on the Bellarmine Knights, but the game itself is secondary to the massive support pouring in from across the nation for UIndy's head coach.
Â
Melissa Frost, the 13-year leader of the Greyhound softball program, recently received news that she had breast cancer, a disease that strikes one out of every eight women in the U.S. She was diagnosed last November, and in February, just days before traveling to begin the 2017 season, she began chemotherapy treatments.
Â
Coach Frost will not be alone in her fight, however, as a heart-warming total of 43 teams from 16 states and 14 different conferences will be wearing the slogan "Faith.Fight.Frost." on their specially-ordered jerseys Saturday to show their support for Coach Frost.
Â
UIndy would like to extend its most heartfelt thank you to the schools listed below for their support of Coach Frost. Join them by showing your support on social media with the #FaithFightFrost.
