INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Greyhounds' men's soccer team held off Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night, winning 3-2 on a goal in extra time.
David Kurz buried a free kick in the 23rd minute to put the Hounds in front, but a 44th minute goal from Nick Harper leveled the score by halftime.
A penalty by
Javier Steinwascher in the 57th minute gave the Hounds the lead once again, but for the second time in as many games, the Greyhounds conceded a late equalizer, as Donald Link scored in the 87th minute to send the teams to extra time.
Fortunately for the Hounds,
Benjamin Sierra broke the deadlock one last time, scoring in the 98th minute, ending the game and giving the Hounds a 3-2 win.
Six of the Hounds' 12 shots were on frame, while four of the Tritons' 10 shots were on target. The Hounds did not commit a single foul while the Tritons were whistled 20 times.
