HOUND BYTES
Coach Reed: "We did a great job of controlling the tempo of both matches. I thought we really played our style of volleyball regardless of who was on the other side of the net. Everyone took great pride in doing their jobs. Our serving and defense really stood out. We forced our opponents to make mistakes because of our great defensive effort. Later in both matches we started blocking the ball, which was a result of great defense."
Â
"We're starting to pick up some confidence, which will be huge when we take on Grand Valley and Wheeling Jesuit tomorrow. The team is looking forward to the challenge tomorrow."
Â
"
Olivia Martin led our defense and really controlled the backcourt all day today. She served really well and kept us in system with her serve-receive."
Â
"
Julia Kruzan is proving to be a go-to hitter for us. She also is doing a phenomenal job on the block."
Â
"I thought Rachel had a great day on both sides of the ball. Her defense has been incredible all year along and today I thought she made much better choices on the attack, which resulted in a much more efficient hitting percentage. She is going to be a big part of our success as she continues to make good decisions on offense."
Â
"One player I'd like to talk about that doesn't show up a lot in the stats is
Katie Voelz. She has demonstrated great leadership as well a lot of energy. She is teaching our younger players how to succeed at the collegiate level."Â
