QUINCY, Ill. – The 20th-ranked UIndy football team (5-1, 4-0 GLVC) upped its win streak to five with a 35-7 road win at Quincy University (2-5, 1-2) Saturday night. The Greyhounds overcame two first-half turnovers while out-pacing the Hawks 483-204 in total yards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a couple of uncharacteristic fumbles in the first half, the Hounds turned a seven-point halftime lead into a lopsided win. The UIndy defense was the constant, holding Quincy scoreless for the final 48 minutes of play. The Hawks' lone score came late in the first quarter after a Greyhound turnover gave them the ball on the UIndy 19-yard line to setup up a short touchdown drive.

Locked in a tie game late in the second quarter, UIndy orchestrated a massive 14-play, 89-yard scoring drive to retake the lead, 14-7, with two-plus minutes left in the half. A two-yard score by sophomore
Al McKeller capped the methodical march.

The momentum carried over into the second half, as the senior QB
Jake Purichia delivered a pair of lengthy passing TDs in the third quarter. Senior
Malik Higgins hauled in a 28-yard touchdown midway through the quarter, while sophomore
Aaron Matio scored on a 32-yard catch-and-run on the very next possession to help put the game out of reach.
