Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds grabbed an early eight-point lead after back-to-back deep balls from Kempson and
Jordache Mavunga. However, the Lakers took advantage of King's two early fouls and led went on to lead 42-39 at the break.
Â
Lake State grew its lead to 10 at the 9:36 mark before UIndy slowly clawed its way back. A 3-pointer by the Lakers made it 79-72 with 3:11 remaining, but that would prove to be the final regulation points for the visitors.
CJ Hardaway took over the final few minutes of regulation, scoring the next seven points for the Greyhounds, including three free throws to tie the game.
Â
A block by Mavunga on the defensive end saved UIndy from a Lake State buzzer-beater.
Â
The Lakers also led by five with 2:32 left in the five-minute overtime session before a final 6-0 push by the Hounds earned them a 91-90 win. King scored four in the final 85 seconds, while Hardaway sunk his final two from the charity stripe to give UIndy its final lead.
Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Greyhounds shot 22-of-30 from the free throw line in the second, while the Lakers attempted just 12 from the stripe the entire 45 minutes of action. UIndy sunk its final nine attempts to seal the win.
