Greyhounds fall at #4 Ouachita, end playoff run

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The No. 12 UIndy football team (10-2) concluded its season Saturday with a 35-7 second-round loss at No. 4 Ouachita Baptist University (12-0). The unbeaten Tigers broke a 7-7 tie in the second quarter and didn't look back, finishing with 303 rushing yards for the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Playing on natural grass for the first time in three years, the Greyhounds matched a season low with just seven points on the afternoon. UIndy's lone score came in the second quarter on a 32-yard touchdown pass from Jake Purichia to Aaron Matio to tie it at 7-apeice.

But after taking the lead on the very next possession, the Tigers delivered an especially damaging blow right before the half.  Redshirt-freshman QB Brayden Brazael found senior wideout Drew Harris with a four-yard TD pass with a mere four seconds remaining in the second quarter to give Ouachita a deflating 21-7 lead at the break.

A pair of big plays in the third quarter all but clinched it, as the Tigers scored on a 64-yard pass and a 63-yard rush.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- All three UIndy starting linebackers reached double figures in the tackles; Alex Parsons finished with a career-high 15 stops, followed by Cole Sigmund with 11 tackles and Joe Lambright with 10.
- Seven different Greyhounds earned at least one reception on the day, led by Matio's five catches for 63 yards.
- Ouachita's rushing total of 303 yards set a season high for a UIndy opponent.
- Senior defensive tackle Lucas Rice was credited with two quarterback hurries.
