INDIANAPOLIS- After an almost 10-hour day of wrestling that featured more than 500 matches in Nicoson Hall and the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center, there are still six Greyhounds alive in Midwest Classic action. Two are still in championship contention at the 40th edition of the two-day event.
At 174, redshirt sophomore #9
Cayden Whitaker is in the bracket semifinals. The Martinsville, Ind., native entered the tournament as a two-seed, and went 3-0 en route to his semifinal berth, counting a major decision among his wins on the day.

Dylan Faulkenberg also had a 3-0 day, with his hopes of defending his 2017 Midwest Classic 285 championship still alive. Â The redshirt senior is the bracket's top seed, and earned a major decision and a fall along his route to the semifinals today.

Kyle Barkovich at 149,
Shelden Struble at 165 and #4
Brody Conner at 184. As a team, the #11 Greyhounds sit in sixth place with 45.5 team points. Â #25 Lake Erie currently leads the team race with 65.5 points, followed by Maryville with 62.5. #10 Lindenwood (55.5), #4 McKendree (55.0) and Central Oklahoma (46.5) round out the top five.
