INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball team (7-4) ended the 2018 calendar year on Monday afternoon with a 78-67 win over Grace College (10-6). The victory snapped a four-game skid by the Greyhounds, who claimed their last win on November 23 against Wilberforce.

CJ Hardaway paced the Hounds with 17 points, leading a pack of four who finished with double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a slow start offensively for UIndy, who shot just 30.8 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes. The Hounds led by as many as six in the first half after a 9-0 scoring run before the Lancers cut it to three at the break.

Hardaway sunk all four of his shots in the second half to finish six-of-10, leading UIndy to 46.9 percent shooting to close out the victory. The Hounds recorded 10 thefts on the afternoon, with
Tye Wilburn playing a defensive force in the win with five steals.
Trevor Lakes made both of his three-pointers in the second half, while also tallying a block.

After grabbing the lead in the first half, the Greyhounds never looked back as they led for over 29 minutes.
Jimmy King managed the floor against the Lancers, logging nearly 34 minutes of action and finished with a plus-18 rating.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Wilburn played more than 26 minutes for the first time this season, and played a major role in the Hounds' win on Monday. The transfer senior scored just three points, but finished with five steals, four assists, and three rebounds.

Five Greyhounds were perfect from the charity stripe in the win, as UIndy finished 17-for-19. Hardaway sunk all five of his attempts, while Lakes and
Marcus Latham each making three.

Latham tallied 11 points in 20 minutes of action, marking the second time in three contests the junior has reached double digits. He also chipped in a steal in the win.

King finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists against Grace, including a block on the defensive end. The junior point guard has been consistent in scoring, reached double figures on eight occasions.

UP NEXT
As the calendar flips to 2019, UIndy will welcome in Quincy and Truman this coming weekend for a pair of conference contests. After dropping the GLVC opener to Lewis on December 1, the Greyhounds will end the regular season with 17 in-conference games.
