INDIANAPOLIS - The 12th ranked men's tennis team opened up their season with a clean sweep of DePauw University at the UIndy Tennis Center.
Paired up in the number one doubles slot was Magnus Mueller and Christoph Drechsler. The two defeated Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan 8-5. Nils Hoffacker and Matej Kostadinov took an 8-1 win over Matthew Quammen and Alex Pintilie. Rounding out the doubles play for the Greyhounds was Matteo Videau and Andy Morlet who also claimed an 8-5 victory over their opponents, Michael Kolbus and Alec Gretencord.
Finishing first on the singles side of things was Drechsler with a final score of 6-0, 6-0 over Frauenheim. Huber's 6-1, 6-0 win in number two singles over McClanahan followed to give the Hounds the 5-0 lead to clinch the match.
Morlet added a 6-0, 6-2 victory to the board, while Kostadinov took a 6-1, 6-0 win. Rounding out singles was Mueller and Hoffacker. Mueller topped Pintilie 6-4, 6-0, and Hoffacker came through with a 6-1, 6-0 win to finish the night.
The Hounds head back to the UIndy Tennis Center tomorrow, Feb. 2, to take on Hanover College at 4 p.m.
