In the third match of the season, the women's tennis team competed against Bowling Green University at home. The Greyhounds were defeated 5-1 by the Falcons.
Bowling Green earned all three wins in doubles competition. Chloe Weihs and Florence Renard came the closest to victory, but eventually lost 9-8.
With a 3-0 lead over the Greyhounds, Bowling Green needed two additional wins to clinch a victory. Alina Kislitskaya earned the lone win for the Hounds, when she defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-2. Bowling Green's Paula Comella won by retirement of Hanna Volikova.
With the 4-1 team lead, Bowling Green sealed the win with a victory from Ayumi Sasak over Mara Hofstetter 6-1, 6-3.
The Greyhounds will look to rebound with a win against Eastern Illinois tomorrow, Feb. 11 at home. The match will begin at noon.
