GREENWOOD, IND. – Over the weekend, the UIndy women's tennis team kicked off their season by welcoming Butler, IU Indy, and Marian to the UIndy Fall Tournament, playing at Center Grove High School in a hidden dual format 

The Greyhounds compiled a 16-17 record in singles competition, while posting a 9-6 mark in doubles. 

Sofia Cardenas, Linya Chen, and newcomer Liza Simak all posted undefeated marks in singles competition, winning all three of their matches. The doubles teams of Jimena de Pablos Hernando / Cardenas and Andrea Garcia / Chen also went 3-0 over the weekend. 

Alongside Simak, Magda Kornijczuk, Maelys Thiery-James, Anni Tieu, Isabelle Haggard and Lexia Goldberg all made their respective debuts for the Crimson and Grey. 

The Hounds will be in action next at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship in Grand Rapids, MI, with competition beginning Oct. 3.
