Incoming UIndy swimmer among victims in Florida school shooting

Nicholas Dworet was one of those who lost his life in yesterday's heartbreaking school shooting in Parkland, Fla. A senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Nicholas had committed to swim for UIndy next year and become a Greyhound. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Dworet family and all those affected by this horrible tragedy.

23671"Nick was an energetic and very vibrant kid," said UIndy Swimming Diving Head Coach Jason Hite. "He was very positive, lots of smiles when he was here on Jan. 20 for our big meet versus Grand Valley State and Lindenwood. He was on the sidelines cheering and was just a lot of fun. He fit in really well with everybody.

"I spoke with his mom this morning, and she reiterated the fact that he was really looking forward to this next step in his life and becoming a Hound. He really felt like he had a family in the team, and was really excited about what we're doing up here."
