After a sweep over DePauw University on Thursday, the men's tennis team turned around and did it again, this time against Hanover College. The win moved to the Greyhounds to 2-0 to start the season.
Matteo Videau was the first to finish for the Greyhounds in singles. Videau got a 6-0, 6-0 win in the 6th slot against Roger Trombley. Christoph Drechsler also claimed a 6-0, 6-0 victory against his opponent, as did Dario Huber who competed at number two singles for the Greyhound. Matej Kostadinov faced off against Mitchell Minniear and pulled through with a 6-1, 6-1 win. The third singles spot was taken by Magnus Mueller with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jonathan Helmers. Midwest ITA Regional winner Nils Hoffacker earned a victory in the number one spot for the Greyhounds with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hanover's Landon Carrico.Â
In doubles competition, Mueller and Drechsler swept Helmers and Dakota Smith 8-0. Andy Morlet and Videau walked away with an 8-1 win. To finish off the doubles, Kostadinov and Hoffacker defeated Carrico and Minniear with a score of 8-3.Â
The Greyhounds take on #25 Ferris State tomorrow, Feb. 2, at the UIndy Tennis Center to at 3 p.m.
