INDIANAPOLIS - The men's tennis team took their first loss of the season to Division I opponent Butler University, losing a close 4-3 decision at the Butler Bubble. The loss moves Greyhounds record to 3-1 this spring.
To open the match, the Hounds earned the first win in doubles, but were unable to capitalize in the No .1 and 3 slots. Magnus Mueller and Christoph Drechsler defeated Butler's Michael Dickson and Spencer Lang 6-4. Dario Huber and Renato Lima partnered up, as did Nils Hoffacker and Matej Kostadinov. Hoffacker's 6-3, 6-0 win in the No .1 singles slot over Mason Dragos tied the overall team score at 1-1. Dickson of Butler then followed with a victory over Drechsler, 7-5, 6-4. Lima's match against Ben Shabat went to three sets, but the Greyhound eventually added another victory to the team score for UIndy.Â
