KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The No. 14 UIndy baseball team (10-2) extended its winning streak to eight games on Saturday, sweeping the doubleheader from Truman. The Hounds gained an early lead in game one before holding on to win, 6-2, while the night cap featured a UIndy comeback to give the visitors a win in each of the first three games of the series.
Â
Dylan Jones played a major role in each victory, driving in a pair of runs in each game, including the game-winning pinch-hit knock in game two.

The Hounds were at it again, scoring first in their eighth game of the season.
Macy Holdsworth and Jones followed with a two-out knock in the first inning, all for Jones to get caught in a rundown, allowing Holdsworth to touch home plate before the tag.
Â
Tyler Hosto couldn't keep the momentum for the Greyhounds, allowing a pair of Truman runs in its half of the first, but struck out the last two hitters of the frame.
Nick Miller immediately tied the game to lead off the second, before he and Jones combined to drive in three more in the Greyhounds to take the 5-2 lead.
Â
The UIndy southpaw flirted with trouble over the first few innings and was eventually chased from the mound with one out in the fourth. However,
Jon Crawford induced a couple lazy fly balls to end the Bulldog threat.
Dylan Stutsman entered with two outs in the sixth and promptly retired each of the four batters he faced to earn his third save of the season. Holdsworth scored in UIndy's half of the seventh to add an insurance run for the senior closer, one that would not be needed.
Â
Crawford has been terrific so far in his rookie campaign, allowing just three hits in 6.2 innings.

UIndy 5, Truman 3
Michael Schalasky grabbed the ball for game two and struck out four Bulldogs in the first three innings, but made just two mistakes that the home team took advantage of to lead 2-0 early. The Greyhounds responded in the fourth, using the extra-base knock to knot the game two deuces.
Adam Vasil came around to score after a double by
Storm Joop, who then also crossed the plate when
Kyle Orloff slapped a triple down the right-field line.
Â
After a Truman bomb in the sixth, UIndy responded with two of its own the next half inning. Jones proved head coach
Gary Vaught right, who proved a two-out, two-strike, pinch-hit single through the left side to Hunting Waning and
Nick Miller and give the Hounds a 4-3 lead. After Joop scored UIndy's fifth run of the game on a wild pitch in the eighth,
Christian Beard finished his second inning with just one hit surrendered.
Â
Stutsman, once again, came in for the save opportunity and did not disappoint the Greyhound faithful. The senior allowed a hit and hit a batter in the ninth, but struck out the side to finish with his fourth save of 2018.
Â
Schalasky struck out 10 over his six innings of work, finishing with his first quality start of the season and third win.
Â
The 14th-ranked Greyhounds and Bulldogs wrap up the four-game set tomorrow afternoon in Kirksville. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
