Taylor Podschweit's first-inning RBI triple set the tone for the Greyhounds. Freshman
Haylie Foster piled on with a three-run double in the second, lifting hte Hounds to a quick 6-0 lead. Though the Knights got four runs back in hte bottom of hte second, UIndy hung crooked numbers in each of the next three innings to run-rule Bridgeport in five.
Foster went the distance in the circle, picking up the win to run her record to 4-0 on the year. She allowed a grand slam in the aforementioned second frame, though all four runs were unearned.
Â
UIndy 9, Purdue Northwest 8
Purdue Northwest jumped on Greyhound starter
Lauren Honkomp immediately, scoring six runs in the top of the first inning. Down 7-1 heading into the bottom of the third inning, the Greyhounds exploded for six runs of their own. The first six UIndy hitters reached base, scoring two after a
Cathy Skaggs double.
Taylor Danielson plated two more three hitters later to even the game at seven.Â
