INDIANAPOLIS – Dario Huber earned the first GLVC Player of the Week honor of his career, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. It is the third time this season a Greyhound has been named the league's weekly recipient.
Huber maintained his season-long success last week against No. 16 Southwest Baptist and McKendree, both of which were team victories. On Wednesday against the nationally-ranked Bearcats, Huber and
Nils Hoffacker teamed up for an 8-5 triumph in No. 3 doubles. Later in the day, the freshman won in straight sets at 6-4, 6-4.
The Switzerland native rode the momentum into Sunday, where he also tallied another pair of wins to help the Hounds defeat McKendree in the team's first GLVC match of the season. He and Hoffacker won their 12th match as a tandem, defeating their McKendree counterparts, 8-2, before rolling to a victory at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-2).
The No. 11 Greyhounds travel to Bellarmine this Friday afternoon for a 3 p.m. conference match.
