Box Score LOUISVILLE - The No. 7 UIndy men's tennis team swept Bellarmine on Friday, moving to 2-0 in GLVC matches, after winning its fourth-straight match.
Andrea Morlet and
Renato Lima entered the match as the No. 19 team doubles team in the country, and lived up to their ranking with an 8-2 win over Bellarmine's Matt Momper and Alex Swords in No. 1 doubles.
Magnus Mueller and
Christoph Drechsler was the first duo the win on Friday, defeating their Knights' counterparts, 8-1, while the 29th-ranked
Nils Hoffacker and
Dario Huber swept No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Mueller kicked off the six singles wins for the Greyhounds, allowing just one game in the second set to win at No. 3 singles. Lima and No. 67 Hoffacker followed Mueller, each winning 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 and No. 1 singles, respectively, while No. 56 Drechsler defeated Nick Johnson 6-3, 6-2.
Matej Kostadinov and Morlet also cruised to straight-set victories in No. 5 and No. 6 singles, earning wins over Andrew Jones and LJ Allara, respectively.Â
The Hounds are now 16-2 this spring and will head to Romeoville, Ill. next Friday for a contest against Lewis.
