INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 10 UIndy men's tennis team won its fifth match in a row, and 14 of the past 15, on Friday afternoon at the UIndy Tennis Center, defeating No. 42 Lewis in convincing fashion with the 8-1 win.Â
In a battle of nationally-ranked doubles squads, No. 32
Renato Lima and
Andrea Morlet dropped an 8-5 decision to No. 20 Alan Braschinsky and Oskar Lusti in the No. 1 slot.
Magnus Mueller and
Christoph Drechsler and
Magnus Mueller handled business in No. 2 doubles with an 8-3 win, while
Nils Hoffacker and
Dario Huber won 8-2 in No. 3 competition.Â
Mueller kicked off singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Andre Norasith, as Lima followed with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph against Lusti. No. 61 Hoffacker forced a third set in No. 1 singles, winning the final frame 6-2 over No. 41 Braschinsky.
Singles 4, 5, and 6 all ended quickly in favor of the Hounds, with Huber winning 6-0, 6-1 and
Matej Kostadinov proving victorious 6-2, 6-0 in No. 4 and 5, respectively.
Matteo Videau wrapped up the victory with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Brendan Peterson in the six-hole.Â
The Greyhounds welcome in Illinois-Springfield tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. from the UIndy Tennis Center.Â
