OZARK, Mo. – The UIndy baseball team (30-22) suffered its first loss of the 2018 Championship Tournament on Saturday evening, dropping a 9-5 final to the East Division's third-seeded Southern Indiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Greyhound starter
John Hendry allowed three runs in his three innings of work, albeit just one was earned off the righty. The Screaming Eagles then exploded for five more runs in the fourth inning to lead 8-0.
Â
The Hounds got on the scoreboard in the sixth after
Hunter Waning plated
Tyler Phillips, and then
Dylan Jones singled home
Storm Joop two batters later.
Â
After a Joop single in the seventh scored
Joe Kenney, Phillips came around to score his second run of the game after the Southern Indiana defense committed an error.
Kyle Orloff took advantage of the mistake, chasing home Joop with a knock of his own to make the score 8-5.
Â
Christian Beard entered with one out in the fourth, and completed four innings with allowing just one earned run, while striking out a pair. The UIndy offense showed up too late on the day, eventually losing to the Eagles, 9-5.
Â
Nick Lonergan logged the final 1.2 innings on the mound, punching out three.
Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Orloff's run-scoring single in the seventh puts the junior atop the program list for most RBIs in a career. The Cincinnati native has driven in 134 runs in his three seasons, and took just 137 games.
Â
Joop scored twice on the day, standing firm in the second spot on the all-time list in program history with 169 runs.
