Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Following in the footsteps of their female teammates, the UIndy Men's Tennis program will also send three student-athletes to the 2018 ITA Oracle Cup, with Greyhounds topping both the A Singles and A Doubles draws at the ITA Regional held during the weekend at Davenport.

A SINGLES
Renato Lima will represent the UIndy men's team after going 6-0 through the A Singles draw as the bracket's four-seed. Lima opened the event with a three-set win (7-5, 1-6, 10-4) over Ashland's Stuart Brdicka, and moved to the round of 16 with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Findlay's Eduardo Munoz. Lima opened Saturday morning actiong with another three-setter, taking a 5-7, 6-0, 10-4 victory over Rockhurst's Tarass Thevenaz to move to the quarterfinal round. In a match versus six-seed Ben-Hur Kasprzak of UMSL, the Greyhound sophomore won 6-2, 6-0 to move to the semis to face off against #2 seeded Alan Braschinsky of Lewis, where he won 6-4, 7-6(6) to earn a spot in the finals versus teammate Nils Hoffacker, the bracket's #1 seed. Lima again pulled the upset, topping the senior Hound 7-6, 6-1 to earn his first trip to the ITA Oracle Cup.

Hoffacker earned runner up honors after a 5-1 run through the bracket, opening his event with a 7-5, 6-1 defeat of Ferris States Ayush Deswal in the opening round.  He then dispached Santiago Rodriguez of Rockhurst 6-0, 6-1 to earn a spot in the round of 16, where he faced 14-seed Niklas Karcz of Wayne State. Hoffacker took a 6-2, 6-4 win to move to the quarterfinals, where he bested JL van Antwerpen of Davenport 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the semifinals. To earn his showdown with Lima, Hoffacker went to a third set for the first time in the tournament, taking a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 win over bracket three-seed Sebastien Lescoulie of Grand Valley.

Dario Huber also played in the A Singles draw, going 3-1 in the event as the bracket's five-seed. Magnus Mueller, the A Singles eight-seed, went 2-1 in the tournament.

A DOUBLES
On the doubles court, the unseeded pair of Huber and Matej Kostadinov set fire to the A Doubles draw, opening with an 8-4 win over Drury's Diot and Porcher to set up a showdown with the top-seeded duo of Lewis' Braschinsky and Lusti. The Greyhounds took an 8-6 upset of the Flyers to move to the bracket quarterfinal, where they made quick work of eight seed, UMSL's Kasprzak and Monteiro 8-3. In the semis, Huber and Kostadinov again won 8-3, over Wayne State's Sammons and Renaudie. The final set up a chance for the duo to avenge teammates Lima and Ariel Farji, as Huber and Kostadinov faced off with Iswan and Guerre of Ferris State after they defeated the second Greyhound pair in the other bracket semi. Huber and Kostadinov took a 6-0, 5-7, 7-5 win in the final to make their first trip to the ITA Oracle Cup.

Lima and Farji went 3-1 through the A Doubles draw as the three-seed, notching a win over bracket six-seed Lescoulie and Matov of Grand Valley State 8-4 in the quarterfinals before falling to the Ferris State pair in the semifinals.

B SINGLES
In addition to his work on the doubles court with Lima, Farji also played in the B Singles draw, going 4-1 in the bracket with a loss in the semifinals to Remy Johnson of host Davenport.

Lima's singles trip will be the third for a male Hound, after Arklon Huertas del Pino took the singles title in 2015, and Hoffacker made the trip a season ago. The doubles pair of Huber and Kostadinov will be the second Greyhound men's duo to play at the Oracle Cup, with Huertas del Pino and Andrea Morlet advancing in 2016. The ITA Oracle Cup will be played Oct. 13-16 in Rome, Ga.
