FINDLAY, OH- The #12 Greyhounds (3-4) only surrendered one match to host Findlay Wednesday evening, taking a 36-3 win in Croy Gymnasium.
D.J. Smith (7-10) opened the dual with a 4-2 win over UF's Zach Collins at 125, while
Ana Abduljelil (8-7) pushed the UIndy lead to 6-0 with a 4-3 win over Mike Stewart at 133 thanks to a riding time point.
The riding time point would again help out the Hounds at 141, with
Angelo Robles (11-9) pulling out the 6-5 win over Ryan Skonieczny. The Roughnecks took their only win of the dual at 149, bringing the score to 9-3 in UIndy's favor heading to 157. At 157 #11
Heath Lange (2-2) battled back from an early match deficit to defeat James Wimer 12-9.Â
At 165, 11th-ranked
Shelden Struble (13-4) did what he does best by adding another pin to his credentials, his seventh of the year. After a forfeit victory at 174 for the Hounds, #6
Brody Conner (10-5) avenged an early-season loss with a hard-fought win over Armani Robinson by a score of 4-2 in SV-1 at 184.Â
At 197,
Brian Wagner (7-6) came out on top with a dominating 7-2 decision. The Hounds closed out the action with another forfeit win at heavyweight, completing a dominating 36-3 win.Â
UIndy Wrestling will hit the mats again this Saturday at home, as they take on regional foes 11th ranked Tiffin, 17th ranked Ashland, and Davenport. Come support the Hounds in the ARC as wrestling begins at 2pm. Before the final dual UIndy will honor 11 seniors who will close out their Greyhound careers this season.
