UIndy Greyhounds (11-5, 4-2 GLVC) vs. William Jewell Cardinals (8-11, 2-5 GLVC)
Saturday, Jan. 26, 3 p.m. ET

ON TAP
After a short one-game trip, the UIndy men's basketball team comes back to the Circle City for a pair GLVC contests. The Greyhounds will welcome in the Rockhurst Hawks on Thursday evening, while William Jewell visits Nicoson Hall on Saturday afternoon. It is the first time since February 2017 that either team has been to Indianapolis.

ABOUT ROCKHURST
The Hawks visit UIndy having lost their last two contest after winning four straight games prior, including wins over Drury and Missouri S&T. Overall, Rockhurst has a 10-7 record this season, with three of those victories coming against non-DII programs. To open the 2018-19 campaign, the Hawks downed Purdue Northwest in Liberty, Mo.

Rockhurst lost a tough battle at Washburn on November 14 after holding a small halftime lead, similar to the Hounds' meeting with the Ichabods in Las Vegas in December. Just like the Greyhounds' demise, the Hawks' offense stalled in the second half before losing to Washburn.

The Hawks enter Nicoson Hall as one of the worst scoring offenses in the GLVC, averaging just 69.1 points per contest. However, sophomore Curtis Lewis ranks in the league's top-10 at 15.9 tallies, while Quinton Curry is scoring 14.7 per game. Curry also ranks third in the GLVC with 8.1 rebounds per game.

Head coach Drew Diener is in his fourth season in Kansas City.

ABOUT WILLIAM JEWELL
Before Saturday's contest in Indianapolis, the Cardinals will travel to Lewis with an 8-11 record and three-game losing streak, with defeats at the hands of Rockhurst, Bellarmine, and Southern Indiana. William Jewell topped Drury and Missouri S&T back on January 3-5 for its only conference wins thus far this season, and have also picked up an in-region victory over Purdue Northwest.

The Cardinals handed Drury one of its five one-point losses this season on January 3, just one week prior to the Greyhounds edging the Panthers, 71-70. On January 17 against No. 1 Bellarmine, William Jewell only trailed by six at halftime before losing by 20 to the Knights.

William Jewell is one of the highest scoring offenses in the GLVC, putting up 80.1 points per game in league action. Byron Harp (20.3) and Keith Hayes (19.0) each rank inside the top-five of scoring in the conference, combing for nearly half of the Cardinals' points.

Head coach Larry Holley is in his 40th season in Liberty. Last season, Howley earned the 2018 Kansas City Sports Commision Coach of the Year award for his 20-9 season with William Jewell.

SENIORITUS
Seniors CJ Hardaway and Jesse Kempson combined for 34 points off the bench for UIndy on Monday, shooting 11-for-13 from the field. It was the players' first time this season coming off the bench, as the Greyhound reserves scored an astounding 41 points.

GRABBING GREATNESS
Senior Jesse Kempson surpassed 1,000 career points at Drury on January 10, and currently has 1,037 tallies to rank 36th in program history. The Indianapolis native is just 50 points from the top-30 and 243 from the top-20.

Kempson is also nearing 500 career rebounds, as the forward is just 21 boards from the milestone. The senior will become just the 16th UIndy men's basketball player ever to record 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds in a Greyhound uniform. Kempson already ranks 27th in program history on the glass.

FOR THE GREATER GOOD
With the Hounds' win on Monday at Missouri S&T, Stan Gouard is in sole possession of second place with 196 career victories as a head coach at UIndy. Gouard is now behind Angus Nicoson's record of 483 career wins.

This marks Gouard's 11th season on the Greyhound bench, making him the third-longest-tenured coach in program history. Good mentored for 15 seasons, while Nicoson coached the Hounds for more than 29 years.

LAST TIME OUT
UIndy worked around poor shooting from beyond the arc in the first half, scoring 21 points inside the paint and controlling the glass. The Greyhounds scored eight points in the final 90 seconds of the half, including a pair of 3-pointers from Hardaway and Jimmy King, who banked one in as the buzzer sounded.

The Hounds led for nearly the entirety of the second half, getting 13 points alone from Latham in the final 20 minutes. A 3-pointer from Jesse Kempson with 3:41 remaining extended the lead back to eight, but the Miners fought back until free throws ended the host rally.

Gouard passed Harry Good on the all-time wins list on Monday, who coached the Greyhounds from 1928-43 and won 195 games. More than 11 months ago at Missouri S&T, Eric Davidson surpassed 1,000 career points to become the 40th member of the historic milestone club.

King finished Monday night with 14 points, the junior's highest total since December 17 against Pittsburg State in Las Vegas. The Indianapolis native also grabbed five rebounds in the win to mark the third time in four contests the point guard has done so.

FROM PUMA TO GREYHOUND
Senior CJ Hardaway scored his 1,000th career point on December 1 at Lewis after spending his first two seasons at St. Joseph's College. The Indianapolis native scored 672 points as a Puma, and currently sits at 469 as a Greyhound.

RINSE, LATHAM, REPEAT
Junior transfer Marcus Latham has proved to be a spark off the bench since December 17, reaching double figures in five of the past eight contests to average 10.0 points in 18.8 minutes of action. This past Monday at Missouri S&T, Latham matched a season-high 32 minutes on the floor and scored a season-best 18 points in his first start since November 23 against Wilberforce.

MICHIGAN MEN
The UIndy men's basketball team is now 4-0 this season against teams from the state of Michigan. After opening the seasons with triumphs over Northwood and Saginaw Valley, the Hounds toppled Grand Valley State in Allendale before downing Lake Superior State in overtime at Nicoson Hall on November 21.

The four wins over teams from Michigan is the most in program history against the state. The GLIAC schools have combined to start 18-18 this season, with Grand Valley State leading the pack with a 7-2 mark.

HOMEGROWN HOUNDS
UIndy has seven players from the Indianapolis area, including three from within the city limits: CJ Hardaway (Warren Central), Jesse Kempson (Heritage Christian), and Jimmy King (Roncali). Hardaway and Kempson are two leading returners for the Greyhounds this season, combining for 20.9 points, 9.7 boards, and 3.4 assists per game a year ago. King returns for his redshirt-junior campaign after taking a medical redshirt last season.
