INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team (13-5) opened up the 12th annual Midwest Region Crossover with a commanding 25-6 first-set victory, however, Saginaw Valley (14-4) rallied to win the next three frame to avenge an early-season loss to the Greyhounds.

Elizabeth Eads (10) both posted double-digit kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman
Gillian Santana led the 16-point run in the opening set, which included a pair of service aces. Fellow rookies
Grace Hegwood and
De'Janea Johnson tallied kills in the game, while Eads recorded six of her 10 in the first.

The final three sets were a different story. After knotting the match at one set apiece, Saginaw Valley hit .338 over the next two frames to earn the victory over UIndy.

Alyssa Spears had two solo blocks to lead the Greyhounds, while also handing out 44 assists.
