INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's soccer team hosted their first GLVC quarterfinal game at Key Stadium since 2009 Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
USI took the first meeting between the two teams back in September in Evansville, 1-0. UIndy came out flat in the first meeting and that was not the story today as the Greyhounds were aggressive and energetic early on. Three-time conference player of the week
Taylor Peck challenged the USI keeper early in the game, coming up empty on both with the keeper making a save to hold the Hounds scoreless. USI was able to put a ball in the back of the net in the 35th minute as UIndy trailed 1-0 at the break.
Â
The game got physical in the second half for both teams as things were coming to an end with each team receiving a yellow card as the officials kept the game from getting too out of hand. UIndy worked to get a goal throughout the second half, sending a couple shots either high or wide of the goal. USI's defense did not break though as the Screaming Eagles held on for the 1-0 tournament win over the No. 2 Greyhounds.
Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-UIndy held USI to only three shots on goal during the game with reigning defensive player of the week
Sophia Saucerman making a pair of saves.
-The Hounds have lost in back-to-back conference tournament appearances, losing to McKendree 2-1 back in 2017.
