FINDLAY, Ohio – The UIndy women's soccer team opened up their NCAA tournament run Thursday morning against the Walsh Cavaliers. The Cavaliers entered Thursday morning as the No. 2 seed in the Midwest region, but ended the day eliminated from the tournament as the Greyhounds shutout the two-seeded Cavaliers, 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UIndy was the aggressors early on, seniors
Emily Del Campo and
Amanda Meyer each had an opportunity in the first half but missed out to score first. The Greyhound defense helped out
Sophia Saucerman in goal throughout the day. The freshman only saw eight shots from the Cavaliers, four of them on goal but saving all of them.

The Hounds broke the stalemate early on in the second half.
Dana Youssef lined up for a free kick in the 52nd minute, finding freshman
Elena Espinosa in the middle of the field who was able to get her shot just past the Walsh keeper to give UIndy to 1-0 lead. Walsh made a late push, but the Greyhound defense held up as the Hounds won 1-0.
