INDIANAPOLIS – Local-product Maggie Schaffer recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at UIndy. The Bishop Chatard High School senior will join the Greyhounds in the fall of 2020.

Schaffer is a four-time all-conference performer at Chatard, as well as a sectional and regional medalist. She twice qualified for the IHSAA State Tournament, placing 11th as a sophomore. She won the second of her two City Champions as a junior with a career-low 64.

"I could not be more excited by adding a player and young lady like Maggie to our great group of young ladies," said Head Coach Brent Nicoson. "She is a perfect fit for our team culture and brings a level of competitiveness that will help our program.

"Maggie is a tremendous athlete, is a true competitor, and will bring a hate-to-lose mentality with her. I have very high expectations for her during the next four years."

Schaffer also has five top-five finishes on the Hurricane and Golfweek Junior Tours. Additionally, she owns a 4.3 GPA and is an Academic Honors student and National Honors Society member.
