INDIANAPOLIS- Head Coach Jason Warthan has added five signees for the fall of 2020, with the five signing in the last week as the early signing period began.

"We are very excited with the initial signees," Warthan commented. "The five young men exemplify exactly what we look for in our recruits. First and foremost they are all men of high character and will help us continue to build a culture of success and respect. They are all great students and have the focus and motivation to do well academically at UIndy. Plus, we think they are pretty good wrestlers too. We know that each of these guys had many options and feel privileged that they have chosen UIndy to continue their academic and athletic careers."

Four of the five new Hounds are Indiana products, with Jay Thompson coming in from neighboring Ohio. Hunter Cottingham, Brayden Lowery, Ray Rioux and Chris Wilkerson are all from the Hoosier State, with Lowery, Rioux and Wilkerson all from the Indianapolis area.

"It's also nice that the Indiana boys all know each other and have grown up wrestling with one another," Warthan said. "At the moment Jay is the lone out-of-state signee but he will fit right in with this group. Ohio is a great wrestling state and Jay has the potential to help us right away."

In further connecting the signees to the Greyhounds, both Lowery and Wilkerson will join brothers at UIndy. Blaze Lowery is currently a sophmore for the UIndy Wrestling program, while Chase Wilkerson is a freshman.

"Brayden and Chris will be joining their brothers on the team, and it's pretty special when it stays in the family. I consider it one of the biggest compliments that I can get as a coach, when brothers follow each other to a program," Warthan said.
