INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy student-athlete Pilar Echeverria captured the calendar year's final GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week nod, released by league officials Friday. The announcement made it 16 career GLVC weekly honors for Echeverria, upping her own conference record.
 
The senior standout led the Greyhounds at The Battle of the Beach Friday through Sunday, an otherwise all-DI tournament hosted in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. After a carding an opening-round 77, Echeverria ended her weekend with back-to-back 72s to finish at five-over and share 28th place.
 
The 16-team field represented perhaps the toughest ever faced by the Hounds, one that included 10 of the top 55 ranked teams in Division I and four of the top 20.
