INDIANAPOLIS- A pair of Greyhounds placed at the 41st annual Midwest Classic, which came to a close Sunday in Nicoson Hall.

Brody Conner (184) and Dawson Combest (157) placed at the annual event, which featured 37 teams from across the nation, and is NCAA Division II wrestling's largest team tournament of the year.

Conner (17-5), who became a three-time placer with his fifth place finish at this year's Midwest, closed out his tournament going 4-2 over the two-day event. The redshirt senior fell in his semifinal Sunday morning, 8-6, to #6 Aiden Pasiuk of Ashland, and moved to the fifth place match with an 11-10 loss to Anderson Salisbury of Colorado Mines. Conner, currently the #8-ranked 184 in DII wrestling, then bested Maryville's Bailey Kelly for the seoncd time in two days, 7-6, to take fifth place.

Combest (8-3) placed in his first Midwest Classic, opening his day two with a 12-4 major decision over UW-Parkside's Nathan Hensley. The redshirt freshman then pinned Maryville's Tanner Sparks in overtime to move on in the consolation bracket, eventually ending up in the fifth-place bout. Combest dropped a 7-4 decision to #4 Kameron Frame of Newman to take sixth. 

The Greyhounds finished 17th as a team behind their two placers. #2 McKendree took the team title for the second-straight year, amassing 131.5 team points. #16 Central Oklahoma took runner-up honors, with Tiffin in third place as a team. 

UIndy next competes in the New Year, heading to Western Colorado for the Tracy Borah Duals Jan. 11.
