INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy Wrestling team competed at Indiana Little State at Marian University and was led by Zach Fry's second place finish at 197. In addition, Griffin Stine placed sixth for the Hounds. 

Fry went 4-1 through the 197 bracket, opening his day with a tech fall win over Manchester's Jasper Donaldson. After a pin in 1:00 over Jose Ramirez (unattached-CCSJ), Fry won by major decision over James Lewis of Wabash, 14-1. In the semifinal, Fry won by pin over Jack Heldt of Wabash in 2:28. Fry lost by decision in the championship round to James Caniglia of Thomas More, 9-5.

Griffin Stine started the day with a 6-5 decision over Grant Johnson of Wabash. Stine then lost by an 8-3 decision to Josh Hill of Indiana Tech. Stine came back to win by pin in his three consolation matches. He pinned Jasper Donaldson of Manchester in 5:44, Lee Dullaghan of Wabash in 2:10, and Austin Lane of Marian in 1:38. In his fifth cons. round, Stine won by decision over Matt Meicher of Wabash, 9-4. 

Ten Greyhounds placed in the brackets on the day, wrestling unattached. Breyden Bailey went 4-0 on the day finishing first at 141, Nathan Conley went 4-1 on the day and placed second. Placing third was Gavin Ritter at 133 and Owen Zablocki at 149. Derek Blubaugh placed fourth at 174, while Chase Wilkerson and Andrew Sams placed 6th at 141 and 174, respectively. Drew Kreitzer placed 7th in the 149 bracket and Wade Monebrake placed 7th in the 157 bracket. Rounding out the placings is Kyle Saez who placed 8th in the 165 bracket. 

UIndy will be back in action with their home debut hosting the 41st Midwest Classic on December 14-15 in Nicoson Hall. Wrestling will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday.
