ST. LOUIS - The #15 Greyhound wrestling team closed out its regular season with a 1-1 day at Maryville's Lombardi Duals Sunday.
#4 Notre Dame (OH) 35 - #15 UIndy 3
The #4 Falcons took back-to-back major decisions at 125 and 133, and a decision at 141 to take a 11-0 lead into the 149 match. #12
Kyle Barkovich was the bright spot of the dual for the Hounds, posting a 4-1 decision over #6 Taylor Misuna at 149.
NDC took the remaining matche, including back-to-back pins at 157 and 165.
#15 UIndy 38 - Kentucky Wesleyan 8
The Greyhounds took wins in four of the five matches contested versus the first-year Panthers.Â
After KWC took a win at 125,
Ana Abduljelil posted a 7:00 tech fall, 19-4 over Andrew Parker at 133. After forfeits at the next three weights,
J.D. Waters put up six for the Greyhounds with a pin in 1:07 of Kohana Wilks at 165.
Gleason Mappes followed with a pin of his own at 174, in 2:48 over Angelo Talbert.Â
Brian Wagner bumped up to wrestle heavyweight for UIndy, closing out the team win with a 7-6 decision over Karius Washington.
The Greyhounds now await the 2019 NCAA Division II Super Region 3 tournament, Feb. 23 at West Liberty.
